Getting Started

Hi! We are Tyler and David. That's me, Tyler, on the left. David is on the right with our little brother, Landon. We are going to be fourth graders this fall. We love to play football and soccer, baseball, and basketball. We like to go camping and swimming and just like being outside. But, we also love to read. Our mom makes us read every day, but don't tell her, we actually like it. Sometimes we complain about getting started with our reading, but before we know it, we've totally lost track of time. This summer, we are going to keep track of the books we read on our own blog. Our mom is helping us out, but we are going to choose the books and write about them for you. We'd love to have your comments and opinions about what we are reading. We'd also love suggestions from you.

  5. This is so cool! What a great idea! I am a 5th grade teacher in South Dakota, and I have three boys, too, only they are all grown up now. Wish I had thought to have them do something like this when they were your age. You have a pretty special mother there, and she has some extraordinarily special boys! Best of luck on your summer adventure...I will look forward to hearing all about the books you read! :)
PS You may have already read these, but here are a few great books you both may like:
    Shiloh (the series)
    Stone Fox
    Bridge to Terribithia
    Sarah, Plain and Tall series
Nightmare Mountain (and ALL Peg Kehret's books!)
    Night of the Twisters
    Sign of the Beaver
Okay!! I had better stop!! LOL Happy Reading, Guys!! :)

  6. Have you read The Westing Game? It's a great mystery with lots of twist, turns and surprises. I usually recommend it to readers who are a little older, but it seems like you are both great readers, and you have a great mom to help you. In fact, I think the 3 of you would enjoy reading it together to try to figure out the mystery.
